We have been to this place a couple times now and will be going back! The food and service is amazing. While the price may be a bit higher here than other places, it is well worth every penny. This is the best sushi I have tried here! My favorite is the lobster bomb roll. The most recent time we went was for Valentine’s Day and ordered quite a bit of food that came with the dinner package. The rolls in the photos below are from the Valentines special dinner, but are on the normal menus as well. The lobster bomb roll is the middle roll in the photo with 3 sushi rolls. The others were amazing, but the lobster bomb roll beat everything we ordered! I definitely recommend this place if you are looking to go out and dress up for a nicer dinner or date. We will be back! The rolls in the photos are: Lobster bomb Roll Out of control Roll Volcano Roll Sex in the moon Roll Sweet Heart roll

Today, Valentine’s Day 2025, was the first time my husband and I have eaten here, a sushi restaurant less than 2 miles away from our home. It was pretty amazing. The menu was special for today, and to put it mildly, the amount of food for the Valentine’s Day special is enough for a small village. For starters (after we chose which meal for 2 we wanted), we were brought cool chopsticks, not typical ones made of crappy balsa wood that you have to rip apart. Awesome! There was so much food I don’t know where to start. Miso soup? A+ Hibachi shrimp with fried rice and veggies? A+ Sushi…at least 3 different kinds beautifully presented on 3 huge platters? Fresh tuna salad. A+ After feasting on everything, we persuaded the kind waiter not to waste bringing us dessert. Instead he brought us 3 carry out boxes. For the record, there are 20 hibachied (not sure how to make word ‘hibachi’ into a verb) shrimp in my refrigerator now along with the hibachied veggies, the raw tuna, salmon and other things that we couldn’t finish in one sitting without medical intervention required. The leftovers will feed us for 3 days and I’m not joking. Insanity! The service was fabulous despite the entire place being a madhouse on Valentine’s Day. Can’t wait to go back and eat a normal meal there!

Passing through Gainesville, looking for good sushi. This place exceeded my expectations. I’m no amateur sushi eater, so I expect good, fresh ingredients. I always order any rolls with spicy tuna. I ordered their most popular roll- the Out Of Control Roll- containing tuna, salmon, yellowtail and tobiko wrapped in soy paper with flakes, scallions, eel sauce and kimshee on top. $17 and worth every penny. I also ordered the Hard Rock Roll for $16 and had spicy tuna, avocado wrapped in soy paper with Bang Bang shrimp and mango salsa on top. Spicy and spectacular! Rounded out with two spicy tuna hand/regular rolls. Kenny, the server, was fabulous and made some good recommendations. This is among the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. Restaurant atmosphere was great too. I shall return! *Update…i did return! And i got pics. Plus tried new rolls.

Didn’t expect to find such high quality food in a college town! Blue fin o-toro, uni, Fargo salmon, truffle…. Menu is innovative with a wide range of flavors. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Ambience is posh and inviting. Chu chu lobster, uni bomb, sweet 16 and crispy bok choy are some of my favorites. Loved this restaurant so much that after Thursday’s dinner, we returned on Saturday for lunch. If you are in Gainesville and you love Japanese food, Arashi Yama is place not to be missed!

The presentation of the hamachi toro was so beautiful and tasted wonderful. The best fish I’ve had in Gainesville by far. Don’t waste your time downtown. From the silverware and plating to the beautiful fish lanterns, we enjoy this spot very much. 10/10 recommend for date night or family night!
