My wife and I we love sushi! But Crystal Sushi just wasn’t it for us. The service wasn’t the greatest they barely checked on us. Got my order wrong but it’s ok she was new. How we learn. Food decent atmosphere was basic. Food presentation 5/5 Overall I probably won’t be coming back

Great little sushi place a 10 min walk from canary row. Amazingly fresh and delightful sushi. Raw or cooked, you got to go try it. Only 4 star because you can’t do 4.5.

WTH! Who is giving this place such great reviews!? This place is NOT good. We used to make this a mandatory stop with each visit to Monterey (before they changed ownership). We gave it a try after ownership changed and we were SO disappointed with their bland food we swore we wouldn’t return… but after a couple years and reading all these recent fake 5 star reviews we had a change of heart and gave it another try (12/31/24). This place still has horrible food!! The sushi is bland (sushi rice was not prepared correctly and was flavorless) and incorrectly rolled. The agedashi tofu was hard and stale in texture! How is this place still stealing people’s money with bad food???!! DO NOT fall victim to the fake or false reviews that this place is good nor waste your money here (like we regrettably did).

Okay, I've been trying to get here for a very long time. I finally did it and I looked through the menu thinking I wanted something that's off the beaten path. Something I have not seen before so I tried two of the appetizers. First appetizer was the Dragon Ball Z and you know what, that was super amazingly good. I loved it. Crispy rice patty with soft center with all the toppings that are listed (now a favorite ) Then I ordered the takoyaki which is the octopus round pastry with bonito flakes. Now this one is creamy inside with a bit of octopus. This will fill you a little. Very nice, different last is the Frankenstein roll spicy tuna topped with salmon. This was also wonderful. I reeeeally enjoyed Crystal Fish, my definite go to for sushi. Did I mention the rice is fresh and perfectly cooked? That makes a huge difference

Had their omakase plate, pretty good value. A couple nigiri s were mid but over all good stuff. Uni was ok given the price. They had trout which I hadn't seen at a sushi place before. Kinda like salmon but a little denser meat. Toro, the Spanish mackerel, and I think it was squid (white with the red spot of sauce) were delicious.
